So back in late spring when all our students were thrust into online education, I surveyed a few hundred students to see how their experience was. All things considered, it wasn’t a disaster, but there are some scary indicators that we have to watch out for if you are guiding online students presently or are forced into it later.
34% claimed to have learned LESS after going online
39.7% had physical factors that affected the completion of their work
45.6% had emotional factors that affected the completion of their work
63.2% wished there were more spiritual activities when they went online
- Try putting all your online learners into small groups
- Have faculty connect to each student individually to pray
- Use the Bible App to have a devotional together
- Always have a creative alternative for each spiritual event you would have done
